Terms of Service
Effective: July 13, 2026
Please read these Terms carefully before accessing or using Masata. They explain your rights and responsibilities when using our church and ministry management platform.
Welcome to Masata
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of Masata, including our websites, applications, features, tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). These Terms form an agreement between you and Masata ("Masata," "we," "our," or "us") when you accept these Terms or when you otherwise access or use the Service.
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and any other applicable policies we make available, including notices on our website.
Please note:
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms.
- If you use Masata on behalf of a church, ministry, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
- Please also read how we handle information on our website and in product communications. Although privacy notices may not form part of these Terms, they are important documents you should review.
- Other helpful resources include our Help Center, Contact Sales, and demo booking pages.
Who We Are
Masata is a church and ministry management platform built to help pastors, administrators, and ministry leaders manage members, follow-ups, events, departments, teams, and shared resources in one calm workspace. For more information about Masata, please visit https://masata.app.
The Service includes the public marketing website at masata.app and the product application at app.masata.app, along with any related features we provide.
Registration and Access
Minimum age. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, to create an account and use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a church or organization, you must have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.
Registration. You must provide accurate and complete information to register for an account. You may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else, and you are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Organization accounts. If you use an email address associated with a church or organization, your account may be linked to that organization's Masata workspace. Administrators may access, monitor, and control workspace accounts and data in accordance with their internal policies and these Terms.
Beta and trial features. We may offer limited trials, previews, or beta features. Those features may change, break, or be discontinued, and are provided for evaluation as available.
Using Our Service
What you can do. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may access and use the Service for legitimate church, ministry, and organizational management purposes. You must comply with all applicable laws and any documentation, guidelines, or policies we make available.
What you cannot do. You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right
- Upload unlawful, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized content or data
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service except as permitted by law
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without our written permission
- Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or authority to manage church or member information
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or your access where permitted by law, including to prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, or address security issues.
Third-party services. The Service may integrate with third-party products or services that are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.
Customer Content and Church Data
You and your organization may submit, upload, or store information in the Service, including member records, pastoral notes, events, documents, follow-ups, and other operational data ("Customer Content").
You own your content. As between you and Masata, you (or your organization) retain ownership of Customer Content. You represent that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed to provide Customer Content to the Service, including any required consents for personal or pastoral information.
Our use of content. You grant Masata a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use Customer Content solely as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, to provide support, and to comply with law. We do not claim ownership of your church data.
Your responsibilities. You are responsible for Customer Content, including its accuracy, lawfulness, and appropriateness, and for how your team uses pastoral notes, member information, and related records. Masata is a software tool and does not provide pastoral, legal, counseling, or professional advice.
The Service Is Available “As Is”
We continue to improve Masata and may introduce new features, some of which may be in beta. You accept that the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," and may contain errors, defects, or interruptions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Masata’s Intellectual Property Rights
We and our affiliates own all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including software, design, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Masata names, logos, or trademarks without our prior written permission.
Feedback. If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
Privacy and Data Security
We care about the privacy and security of church and ministry data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we may collect, use, and process information as needed to operate the Service, communicate with you, and improve product experience.
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and configuring workspace access appropriately for your team.
For questions about data practices, contact sales@masata.app.
Paid Accounts
Fees and payments. If you purchase a paid plan, you must provide accurate billing information and a valid payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, unless otherwise stated. Taxes may apply.
Cancellation. You may cancel a paid subscription at any time according to the cancellation process available in your account or by contacting us. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Price changes. We may change plan prices from time to time. If prices increase for an existing subscription, we will provide reasonable notice before the change applies to your next renewal so you can cancel if you disagree.
For billing questions, contact sales@masata.app.
Termination, Suspension, and Discontinuation
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service, our users, or others.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity — will survive termination.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Masata and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Masata for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Masata and its affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your Customer Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Masata principally operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at sales@masata.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If we cannot resolve it, disputes will be resolved in the courts with competent jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and may provide additional notice for material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
